Changes for Loganville in Redistrict Map

New Walton County Commission districts are set and officials await ratification in January by General Assembly and Department of Justice.

approved the new district map following the 2010 census, and now await ratification in January by the General Assembly and Department of Justice.

District 2 Commissioner Chuck Bagley provided a copy of the proposed new districts, noting that his district has shrunk some according to the new map. Some of his district will move into District 3, which falls under Commissioner Vickie Gasaway.

β€œThe target population for each District is 13,961 people with aboutΒ  + or – 2 percent variance. District started with in excess of 16,000 population and ended up with 14,111 population,” Bagley said.

Gasaway’s district stretches through and Jersey and far west parts of outside of the city limits. Bagley has picked up some additional Loganville addresses from District 1 Commissioner Clinton Ayers.

Bagley said the new map, as well as the T-SPLOST vote scheduled for next year, will be up for discussion at his town hall meeting Dec. 9 at the Loganville Senior Center.
