“The victim described the suspect as a white male wearing women’s clothing and a wig,” Gwinnett Police public information officer Cpl. Michele Pihera said in a Wednesday email.
The real estate agent allowed the man inside the house as she waited outside, police said.
“When the suspect exited the home, he grabbed her and began assaulting her on the porch,” Pihera said. She was able to free herself and flagged down a person who called 911, Pihera said.
The victim gave officers a description of the man and the car he was driving, as well as a partial tag number, which led police to identify Shumate.
