Covenant Christian Names 2014 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Ashley Ann Russell, a Valedictorian Scholarship winner, will attend Liberty; Tristen Nathaniel Cline, the class president, will attend Berry.
Emmaline McKinnon, principal of Covenant Christian Academy, has announced the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2014.Â
Ashley Ann Russell has been named Valedictorian of Covenant’s Class of 2014. Ashley will attend Liberty University in the fall and received a Valedictorian Scholarship. Some of Ashley’s notable accomplishments include being named Homecoming Queen, STAR Student, and Most Intellectual for the 2013-2014 school year. Ashley is a vital member of the CCA volleyball, basketball and softball teams. She served as the captain of the Cougar volleyball team and was named to the All-State team this year. Ashley is the daughter of Mark and Gina Russell of Loganville.
Tristen Nathaniel Cline, president of the senior class, has been named Salutatorian of the Class of 2014. Tristen will attend Berry College in the fall on a Gate of Opportunity Scholarship where he will serve as a running back on the Vikings football team. Serving as captain of the CCA football team for the past three years, Tristen helped lead the Cougars to championship games during the 2010-2011, 2011-2012, and 2013-2014 school years. Tristen was awarded All State during those three years. The Cougars were awarded State Champions in 2011. Tristen is also captain of the CCA basketball and soccer teams. The varsity Cougar basketball team competed in the ICSGA State Championship game this year. Some of Tristen’s notable accomplishments include being named Homecoming King, Most Athletic, and given the Christian Character and Servant’s Heart awards. Tristen is the son of Keith and Wendy Cline of Snellville. Â
