Here are the top stories in Loganville-Grayson today:

1. No college football team has won back-to-back National titles in the playoff era... until now! The Georgia Bulldogs dominated last night as they defended their title against the TCU Horned Frogs in a 65-7 victory. Celebrations began as soon as the last play concluded the game, and they will continue as the Dawgs make their way home. Saturday will be the day of the parade, right down the road in Athens, and it's sure to be quite an event. The parade will start at 12:30 p.m., followed by the "Dawg Walk" at 1:30 p.m., and then a special ceremony at Sanford Stadium at 2 p.m. (WSBTV)
2. Georgia's gas tax suspension has ended now. Gov. Brian Kemp extended the suspension through Wednesday, Jan.11 to help Georgian's save money at the pump. The average price in March, when the suspension went into effect, was $4.26/gallon. The average price now is $2.78/gallon, and the savings amounted to almost $100 for the average driver. The General Assembly returned on Monday, and as Kemp stated during his re-election campaign, he will work toward another tax refund payout to Georgia residents. (11alive)
3. Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful focuses on connecting people and resources to create a sustainable Gwinnett, and many of its programs are very visible to the public, like their Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-Stream programs, and recycling events. But it's the unique Green and Healthy Schools program that reaches Gwinnett's youngest citizens. With 79 elementary, middle, and high schools represented in their program, GC&B promotes initiatives to the youngest generation by not just developing pride in keeping their county sustainable but encouraging an interest in environmental careers. • Our local Gwinnett Stripers, the Atlanta Braves Triple-A Affiliate team, will begin their search for the best vocalists and musicians in the area to kick off the first pitch at home ballgames during the 2023 season with the National Anthem. Singers, vocal groups, and musicians need to submit a digital recording no longer than 90 seconds to the Stripers by Jan. 31. Top candidates will be contacted in February for the virtual audition, and those selected will be contacted to schedule a performance at a home game this season. The Stripers' first home game is scheduled for March 31 at Cool Ray Field. (11alive)
• Channel 2 Action News has installed the most advanced weather radar in the state and only the second one in the world. The Klystron is revolutionary in forecasting severe weather. Installed in Georgia's own tornado alley in Buchanan, the Klystron will be able to track weather about 300 miles out which is double the distance that was tracked before it was installed. The new radar will save lives and alert citizens as early as possible to severe weather. (WSBTV)
• The deadline for the 2023 Bank of America Student Leaders program is Friday, Jan. 13. Students have an opportunity to gain practical work and life experiences through paid internships with nonprofits.
