Dustin Dorman age 16 receives Civil Air Patrol, Loganville Billy Mitchell Award

On February 23, Dustin Dorman, Cadet Commander of the Civil Air Patrol Loganville Squadron 142 was presented with the Billy Mitchell Award earning the rank of C/2d Lt. The award was presented by M. Stan Mauldin, Sr. Vice Commander of the Loganville American Legion Post 233 (pictured left) and Major Lawrence Lyles, Commander of the Civil Air Patrol (pictured right). The Billy Mitchell Award is one of the Civil Air Patrols most prestigious cadet honors, awarded when cadets graduate from the enlisted ranks and take on greater responsibilities as cadet officers. This past summer in July, Dustin attended a one week Military Encampment in Albany, GA as part of earning this award.
Dustin, age 16, resides in Conyers and is in the eleventh grade at Rockdale High school. After Dustin graduates from high school, he plans on joining the Air Force.
Note: Also, Dustin will go to the Eagle Board in March to earn his Eagle Scout Award. He is with Troop 525 out of Corinth Christian Church, Loganville, GA. He plays trombone in the Symphonic Band and is in the MCJROTC at Rockdale High school. He also has over 370 volunteer community service hours.
