Georgia High School Student Charged in Murder-For-Hire Plot
Seventeen-year-old Morgan Miles Morris, of Pickens County, wanted two people killed, authorities say.

JASPER, GA — A 17-year-old Pickens County High School student is accused of plotting to have two people killed.
Morgan Miles Morris was being held without bond Thursday at the Pickens County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies at the high school were tipped off that Morris had been trying to hire someone to murder two residents of Pickens County, according to a news release.

Following up on the tip, the sheriff's office arranged for undercover officers to meet with Morris.
Morris offered to pay an officer to kill the two people, according to investigators, and he provided detailed instructions on how to carry out the attack.

The sheriff's office did not identify the intended victims.
After executing a search warrant at Morris's home, deputies say they found additional evidence in the case.
The Pickens County Sheriff's Office has contacted all potential victims and made them aware of the threat. There is no evidence that anyone else was ever at risk, according to the sheriff's office.
Morris is charged with criminal solicitation to commit murder. He is being charged as an adult, the sheriff's office said.
Pickens County is in north-central Georgia, a little over an hour north of Atlanta.
