Here are the top five stories today in Loganville-Grayson:
- Verizon has expanded its 5G Ultra-Wideband service into Loganville. The expansion is 18-months earlier than previously estimated. The early expansion is due to a set of agreements made between various satellite providers to clear C-band spectrum. The cellular company plans to expand its 5G Ultra-Wideband service to 175 million Americans by the end of this year. (Capacity Media)
- Grayson Senior Center will be hosting a Blood Drive on Jul. 27. The drive will be at 485 Grayson Parkway from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The community is encouraged to participate. Give blood, save a life! (City of Grayson)
- Gwinnett County is asking for residents' input on Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery fund usage. The county has posted two separate online surveys meant to collect community input. The first survey is for non-profits. The second survey is for residents and community groups. (AJC.com)
- Gwinnett County residents can learn about Gwinnett Transportation services and programs at Alexander Park today. The Transforming Gwinnett Transportation event will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the park's Lois Lane Allen Pavilion. Participants will enjoy music, food, games, and more. Specialized vehicles will also be on display. (Gwinnett County)
- Politico has identified Gwinnett County as one of 20 different counties that could potentially decide the outcome of this year's midterm election. The county will also likely determine the direction that Georgia will take after the Nov. election. The county is a Republican stronghold but has been drifting towards the Democratic party over the last few election cycles. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
