We're going to the dogs!
Indeed we are! O.K., so it's the day BEFORE Halloween, but we wanted to do something special for all of our furry friends, so it's going to be a HOWLING good time in Grayson!Gwinnett Jail Dogs will be at the market from 4-6 p.m. with some of their adoptable dogs ... with some pretty incredible stories to go along with each!
Haven't heard about Jail Dogs - Operation Second Chance ? It's a pretty special program started by Gwinnett's Sheriff Butch Conway which has successfully rescued, vetted, and trained more than 180 dogs that have been adopted into families into our community. In addition to saving dogs inmates are trained with new skills in dog training and handling, "as well as learning to care for something other than themselves and the knowledge that they have made a positive difference in a dog's life."
We're very excited to have these dogs available for the afternoon - you might find your next best friend here!
And to celebrate the day, we're going to the dogs! Contests anyone?
We'll be recognizing those in costume, the cutest, fluffiest, more adorable and, of course, the best trained in Grayson! Bring out your pooch in his best pirate costume, dressed as a fairy, or just its own adorable self and our panel of highly trained and totally-susceptible-to-the-cutest-things-ever judges will award prizes worthy of the ruler of your household!
Sure ... we'll have vegetables, baked goods, and dinner provided by our favorites, but this week, we pay homage to our best friends.
