Grayson Soccer Star Named All-American

Jennifer Westendorf, who helped the Grayson High Rams win the Class 6A state championship this spring, has been named an all-American.

Westendorf, a rising senior forward, was one of 26 players nationwide to be named to National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Winter-Spring High School Girls All-American Team, which was released Wednesday.

She is one of only two Georgians on the team. Treva Aycock of Harrison High in Marietta was also named.

Two Gwinnett players were named to the boys team: Ekow Annan of Brookwood, and Will Hamryka of Greater Atlanta Christian School.

Westendorf scored 40 goals last season and has committed to Notre Dame to play soccer, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported.
