Grayson Woman, 20, Killed in Motorcycle Wreck

Police say another driver was making an illegal U-turn when he struck the motorcycle.

Grayson, GA -- A 20-year-old Grayson woman was killed Wednesday when a driver making an illegal U-turn struck the motorcycle on which she was a passenger, police say.

Elizabeth Marooney was riding on a Suzuki motorcycle being driven by Josiah Still, 18, on Loganville Highway near Patricia Terrace at about 5:30 p.m. when Ismet Huskovic, 72, of Lawrenceville, turned around in the road, according to Gwinnett County Police.

Still swerved to his left in an attempt to avoid a collision but was unable to do so, according to the police report. The front of Huskovic’s Toyota Sienna struck the right side of the motorcycle, knocking both Marooney and Still off of it.

Marooney was declared dead at the scene. Still was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with serious injuries, according to the police report.

Huskovic, a native of Bosnia, was arrested on the scene. He is charged with vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving and making an unsafe U-turn.

He was being held at Gwinnett County Jail as of Wednesday night.
