Grayson’s Spring Market Opens on Wednesday, March 5

It’s been a long, pretty wacky winter, but Grayson’s year-round Farmers’s Market vendors persevered under the big pavilion in the park to continue bringing fresh produce, baked goods and locally made products to their loyal customers throughout the season. And on Wednesday, the market expands and moves back into Grayson Community Park!

“We’re pretty excited to have an early market with all the Spring offerings,” said Gail Lane, Grayson’s DDA and Main Street Manager. “And we’re all very eager to see some of our friends who are returning to this year’s market.”

While most of the vendors from last year’s highly successful Wednesday afternoon market will be returning, the committee is pleased that we will be able to accommodate some new faces this year. Many of the commitments from vendors reflect a market start later in the season as the Summer produce becomes more locally abundant. “We are still taking applications and commitments through April,” said Lane.

The market, which runs each Wednesday in Grayson Community Park from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., showcases the locally grown produce and products from the region. This year, Gail Lane and Sylvia Still will be on hand to direct folks, but Grayson has a strong committee that includes many of the vendors as an active part of managing the market through the season. Councilman James Gillespie is the Grayson Council Sponsor of the market; Farmer Cass of Finch Creek Farms and Lynda Brady of BB Farms serve as this year’s co-managers. Also on the committee are David Moose of Blue Moon Creamery, Aldo and Vilma Ramos of Sunshine Farm, and Edward Sezonov with  Snellville Honey.

The following vendors will be part of Spring’s opening day line-up:
