Here are the top five stories in Loganville-Grayson today:
- Loganville has officially started planning for the proposed special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) revenue. According to Mayor Skip Baliles, if Gwinnett County approves the referendum this November, the city will bring running water and bathrooms to Destination Park and put some SPLOST money toward a library. - A native of Grayson, Georgia, serves the U.S. Navy assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Pensacola operating out of Naval Air Station Pensacola. Hospitalman Raquel Shanks grew up in a family of Marines and joined the Navy four years ago. As he continues to train and perform missions, he takes pride in serving his country in the United States Navy. (OCG News)
- Last week, Michigan State extended an offer to 2024 4-star athlete Kylan Fox of Loganville, who just finished his sophomore year at Grayson High School. At 6-foot-5 and weighing 215 pounds, Fox could play tight end or defensive end in college. (247sports.com)
- The City of Loganville's Groovin' on the Green-Liquid Pleasure performance will take place on Jun. 17. Liquid Pleasure will perform everything from beach music and oldies to more contemporary hits. You can bring your own beer and wine or purchase them at the event, as well as browse the many food vendors available. (City of Loganville)
- This week, the Gwinnett Chamber and the Georgia-Pakistan Business Council (GAPAKBC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) during an official ceremony. The MOU recognized the intent of both organizations to collaborate and champion global business together. (Metro Atlanta CEO)
