Here are the top five stories today in Loganville-Grayson:
- Gwinnett County proposed to keep its tax rate the same, but it expects to collect about $34 million more in property tax revenue due to the increased property values. According to Gwinnett County chief appraiser Stewart Oliver, the average residential property value has increased by $87,000 and the county must revalue about 83 percent of properties. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Yesterday, Jun. 29, it was announced that the 2022 Mitsubishi Electric Classic raised and donated $558,270 to local charities. A number of Gwinnett County and Metro Atlanta area charities and organizations, including Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett and Grayson Cluster Schools Foundation, received the donations. - Rey Martinez, Former Loganville mayor and Georgia District 111 Republican nominee, was in attendance at the Grand Opening of the Republican National Committee Hispanic Community Center in Suwanee yesterday, Jun. 29. Suwanee, in Gwinnett County, is one of many towns across the nation that are opening Hispanic Community Centers as part of the RNC's multi-million outreach to the Hispanic community. (Monroe Local)
