Gwinnett Man Kicked, Punched By Police While In Handcuffs Settles Lawsuit With County
Demetrius Hollins was punched and kicked in the head while on the ground in handcuffs, according to the lawsuit.
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A Gwinnett County man settled a lawsuit with the county after a video captured former police officers kicking and punching him while he was handcuffed, reported WSB-TV.
On April 12, 2017, Demetrius Hollins was in the turning lane of Sugarloaf Parkway at Lawrenceville Suwanee Road when he was stopped by then-Gwinnett police Officer Michael Bongiovanni.
Witnesses videotaped the altercation, which showed Hollins being hit in the face and kicked in the head while on the ground.
