Gwinnett Man Faces Charges in Fatal Hit-and-Run with Scooter

The accident happened Sunday night on Grayson Highway, according to reports

A man faces vehicular homicide charges after a fatal hit and run Sunday night on Grayson Highway.

The accident involved an SUV and a scooter, WXIA-TV reported. The TV station said a 50-year-old man driving the scooter was killed near the intersection of Grayson Highway and Gwinnett Drive in Lawrenceville.

WSB-TV reported the driver of the SUV, identified as Tony Morris, has multiple charges against him, including vehicular homicide and DUI. Morris reportedly was arrested about a half-mile from the scene.

According to Gwinnett County Jail records, Tony Ray Morris of Lawrenceville was arrested by Lawrenceville Police and charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, failure to yield, driving without a valid license and hit and run-failure to stop.

He is being held without bond.
