Gwinnett Man Who Sabotaged PPE Shipment Pleads Guilty To Feds
A U.S. attorney said Christopher Dobbins hacked into his former employer's computer to scuttle shipments of masks, gloves and gowns.
ATLANTA, GA — A fired Gwinnett County healthcare executive who took revenge on his employer by sabotaging shipment of medical supplies has pleaded guilty to recklessly damaging a protected computer.
According to U.S. Attorney BJay Pak, Christopher Dobbins, 40, of Duluth logged into his former employer’s computers to disrupt shipments of face masks, gloves and gowns needed by frontline healthcare workers.
“During this worldwide epidemic, it is imperative that we make sure crucial medical supplies are not disrupted or diverted from the front lines of medical care,” said Chris Hacker, special agent in charge of the FBI in Atlanta. “Thanks to the quick reaction of the medical packaging company in contacting the FBI, we were able to react quickly and arrest this disgruntled employee.”
