Gwinnett Police Seek Man in Alleged Sexual Assault, Carjacking

He is described as a white male driving a dark-colored car.

Gwinnett Police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at gun point after a carjacking Thursday evening.

Special Victims Unit officers were dispatched to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville after a nurse called police around 10 p.m. to report a woman, 24, said she had been sexually assaulted, according to a police news release.

Gwinnett Police public information officer Cpl. Michele Pihera said the victim told officers she was driving home after getting off of work around 8:30 p.m., and was stopped at a red light on Lawrenceville Highway north of Pleasant Hill Road. She said once the light turned green, she was rear-ended by another vehicle.

“The victim exited her vehicle and saw a white male wearing a white sleeveless shirt exit his vehicle,” the woman told police, according to the news release. “The male suspect pulled out a handgun and ordered the victim back into her car; she complied.”

The victim further told police the two continued down Lawrenceville Highway and turned right onto an unknown road, where the man allegedly assaulted her inside the vehicle.

He left on foot after the alleged assault.

Pihera said the victim’s car was in police custody for further investigation.

The only description of the suspect is that he is a white male and was driving a dark-colored vehicle.
