Gwinnett SWAT Standoff Leads To Arrest

The SWAT team was on the scene in Loganville for about 90 minutes before a man accused of a domestic assault surrendered himself to them.

LOGANVILLE, GA — A standoff with a Gwinnett County Police SWAT team on Saturday ended with the arrest of a local man on domestic violence charges.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Stream Walk Drive in Loganville at about 9 a.m. for a reported domestic dispute. After finding out the address in question was actually on Victoria Ridge Court, police met with the victim, who told them the suspect — 20-year-old Nathaniel Washington — likely was armed.

The victim told police she and Washington had repeated arguments and that she was trying to leave when he physically dragged her back inside. Only after she agreed to leave her cellphone behind did Washington allow her to leave, she told police.
