There really IS a National Farmers' Market Week and Grayson's Wednesday Market is right slap-dab in the middle of it!
How can you celebrate? Come out and support the local farmers and vendors who bring their products not only to Grayson, but to other markets throughout our region.
Come out this week for some great fresh foods. This week, you'll find okra, beans, egg plant, squash, and peppers. From our bakers, there will be mini cheesecakes, biscotti, loaf cakes, Cinnamon Walnut Cream Cheese Butter Pastry, and gluten-free zucchini bread, orange cranberry pound cake (YUM!) sandwich bread, and chocolate chip cookies. Pearson Farms will be bringing peaches and pecans along with peach wood chunks for the smokers and grills.
And of course, there will be goat cheese, water buffalo, and the fresh meats that we have each week.
What's for dinner? Hummus, little meat pies, "to-die-for" crepes, and Mac The Cheese will be there this week!
And you know how Grayson is ... After weeks of rain, we've found a solution with the City to make sure that we can still enjoy our market. If the weather gets a bit dicey, we'll still have the market under the pavilion so don't let the clouds scare you away!
America's Favorite Farmers Market Contest
Our thanks to those who have asked how to vote for us in the Favorite Farmers' Market contest. We've put in our application to be part of the American Farmland Trust so you can vote on your favorite market. Hopefully, our acceptance will come in time that we can be part of this year's contest. Stay tuned here on Patch; we'll let you know as soon as you can vote!
The Grayson Farmers' Market is every Wednesday in Grayson Park from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
