ICYMI: Woman Injured in Plane Crash Near Monroe
The plane crashed while attempting an emergency landing.
A woman was hospitalized after a small airplane crashed in Walton County less than a mile from the Monroe airport Saturday night around 9 p.m.
WSB-TV reported the woman was treated for minor injuries; a man piloting the plane and two dogs were uninjured in the crash. The pilot was trying to make an emergency landing of the plane, which was flying from Chattanooga when the engine started smoking.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating the mishap.
