Here are the top five stories in Loganville-Grayson today:
- On Thursday, Gwinnett County police arrested Timothy Kruger in connection with the death of Sarai' Llanos Gómez. A body was found in Lake Lanier on Jun. 20 and was later identified as Gómez's. Kruger has provided a full confession and is facing charges of felony murder and aggravated assault. (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
- This week, the Gwinnett board of commissioners passed a redevelopment plan for Gwinnett Place Mall. The site of the abandoned mall will be used for housing, a cultural activity center, and jobs. Costs and a timeline for the project have not yet been determined. (WSB Atlanta)
- A Gwinnett man who told police that his wife killed herself is now accused of her murder. On Tuesday, Glenroy Robert called 911 stating that his wife had shot herself. However, 24 hours after investigating the scene, police put Robert in jail for her murder. (WSB Radio)
- Gwinnett commissioners declared that this upcoming Sunday is Purple Heart Day in the county. Residents are encouraged to reflect on military members of the community who have been wounded or killed in action. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
