- Authorities need your help locating Cedric Demitri Rogers. Rogers, jailed for a probation violation, fled his work detail at the Hall County Animal Shelter Thursday afternoon. He was later spotted at a Gwinnett County Hardee's and continues to evade police. He's now on the run, and is wanted for escape and interference with an electronic monitoring device. (Newsbreak)
- The National Weather Service issued a wind-chill warning for North Georgia as the artic blast has brought in some of the coldest temperatures we've seen in decades. The powerful wind gusts have wreaked havoc across metro-Atlanta downing trees and taking down power lines, and companies are working to restore power as quickly as possible. Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing until Monday. There are warming stations open throughout the metro area including Gwinnett County, and Georgia State Parks will also have warming stations open. Fort Yargo State Park is our closest park location to seek shelter, should you lose power, and they will have a warming station open. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Most state laws were effective in July, however, a few were delayed until Jan.1, 2023. The following laws will take effect at the first of the year. Rural hospitals will get an increase in the cap for their income tax credits from $60-$75 million, helping to strengthen these rural healthcare systems. Another new law will allow food trucks to sell in any county in Georgia. Now any county can perform health inspections on the trucks, but they will charge less money. The law was designed to help save money for food truck owners, which is great news for popular food truck events in our area. Designed to protect Georgians, a new law requiring Online Marketplaces to collect specific identifying information from high volume, third party sellers. The law will help protect Georgians from purchasing stolen or counterfeit items from sellers. And finally, a law passed to streamline fees that telephone companies pay cities and towns. (13WMAZ)

- A friendly tip from auto experts could save you money. Experts say that modern fuel injection engines are made to start right up and drive. It is recommended that drivers pull off within about 30 seconds of starting the vehicle as it will warm up faster being driven, decrease emissions, and lower fuel costs. Allowing your car to idle in freezing temperatures could be creating costly damage. (Fox7 Austin)
