20 GCPS students, including 2 from Archer and Grayson high schools, were named winners in the National Achievement Scholarship Program

Nearly two dozen Gwinnett County Public Schools student have been awarded 2015 National Achievement Scholarships, according to a new release.

The National Achievement Scholarship Program provides scholarships to outstanding Black American high school students considered to have the strongest record of accomplishments and greatest potential for academic success in college. The scholarships are privately financed by corporate organizations, professional associations, and by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

The scholarships range from one-time awards of $2,500 funded by NMSC, to corporation-funded stipends of $500 to $10,000, or single payments of $2,500 to $5,000.
