Here are the top five stories in Loganville-Grayson today:

  1. A Loganville man was shot and killed by SWAT on Thursday evening after responding to a call for a domestic dispute. Officers reported to a home on Templeton Lane where the 60-year-old suspect was found armed with a gun in the driveway, trying to prevent his roommate from leaving. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called to investigate. (Loganville-Grayson Patch)
  2. Gwinnett County's Norcross Gallery has extended its 'Summer Bursts with Fine Art' through the end of the month. The art show displaying six selected member artists' works will now be on display through Jul. 30. Highlights of the art show include paintings, a poured bronze sculpture, and other works.   3. A Gwinnett County restaurant has failed its restaurant inspection for the second week in a row. Lawrenceville's Parkside District received a score of "U" for unsatisfactory and a total of 57 points. The report lists several food items at unsafe temperatures. (CBS 46 News)
  4. Employees of the Gwinnett County Public Schools system are now required to wear masks in district buildings amid growing COVID-19 cases. Deputy Superintendent Nakia Towns said, "We'll look at the data every week, and if it goes back into moderate or low transmission, we'll be back to strongly recommending (masks)." The mask requirement does not apply to students or visitors. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. A Georgia Gwinnett College program aims to bridge the gap between the spring and fall semesters with the Summer Preparatory Academic Resource Camps (SPARC).
