Man Dead After Road Rage Incident, Gwinnett Truck Driver Faces Murder Charges: Police

A Gwinnett County truck driver is being charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A Gwinnett County truck driver faces murder charges after a road rage incident left one man dead, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department in West Virginia.

Harold Rue, 66, was arrested in Pennsylvania and will remain there until extradited back to West Virginia. He’s being charged in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred Dec. 7 in the morning on Interstate 81, according to investigators. The victim has been identified as 29 year old Reynaldo Gonzalez Mediavilla, of Hialeah, Florida.

“The shooting is believed to have occurred after a road rage incident between Rue and another trucker,” said police on Facebook. “The shooting occurred at the 23 mile marker northbound after both truckers pulled off onto the shoulder of the interstate. Rue fled the scene after shooting the other trucker and traveled northbound on Interstate 81.”

Witnesses informed police about Rue’s vehicle. He was taken into custody a short time later in Carlisle, PA. Berkeley County investigators then traveled to Pennsylvania and worked with Pennsylvania State Police to recover evidence from the shooting.

The investigation is still ongoing and Rue could face more criminal charges after being returned to West Virginia.
