Mr. George “Porgie” Oliver, Sr., age 83 of Oxford, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Corinth Christian Church in Loganville, GA. Minister Don Hardison will officiate. Burial will follow at Corinth Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Oliver was a Veteran (Korea) of the United States Navy and had worked for the IBEW Local 613.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Quattlebaum Oliver, and is survived by his Children: Maurice Oliver & Cynthia Pavey of Atlanta; Maureen Marple of Oxford; Michael & Helen Oliver of Warrenton, VA; John Mark & Sande Oliver of Wellington, FL; Grandchildren: Monica & Ricky Carter, Meredith Oliver & Thomas Tillman, Joshua Stewart, Candace & Adam Winter, Amy & Cain Almand, Christa & John Purdum, Danielle Oliver, Sara & Brian Lunsford, Noah Oliver; Great Grandchildren: Cole, Christian & Chase Carter, Braxton & Brilynn Oglesby, Julia & Kaylee Winter, Braylee, Wyatt & Luke Almand, & Selah Grace.
