Murder Charges in Case of Woman Found Burned in Gwinnett Park in October

An arrest has been made in the murder of a north Georgia woman whose burned body was found at a south Gwinnett County park in October.
Gwinnett Police said in a news release that Charmane Demetrius Goins, 37, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., has been charged with malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault for the death of Lauren Taylor, 26, of Dalton.
Taylor’s burned body was found on the sidewalk by a couple walking their dog around 6:30 a.m. Oct. 8 inside Deshong Park in unincorporated southern Gwinnett County.

Police said Goins had an extramarital affair with Taylor, but released no other information pertaining to motive. During the investigation, detectives found reason to suspect Goins in the crime, according to the news release.
Goins was arrested Monday in Catoosa County. He has been transferred Gwinnett County and is being held without bond.
