🌱 Needed Nursing Programs Go Local + Red Devils Go Big Before Break
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Loganville-Grayson.
Good morning, Loganville-Grayson! I'm glad you're back with me this morning for a glance at some of the local happenings, including updates on...
- Exciting accomplishments for local students as they move into their Christmas break.
- Gwinnett County Police ask for your help to give one of its own an honorable farewell.
- Growth of local nursing program means options to stay closer to home for training.
But first, today's weather:
Expect a cold, rainy day with rain showers starting mid-morning. The high is only 40 and with a low of 34, the day is expected to hover in that cold, dreary state. So, take an umbrella and bundle up, and think of this as bettering our chances for a white Christmas!
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Loganville-Grayson who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

Here are the top stories in Loganville-Grayson today:
- The funeral for fallen Senior Correctional Officer Scott Riner will be today beginning at 11 a.m. in Lawrenceville. Following the service, Officer Riner will be transported to West View Cemetery in Monticello by police procession. Residents are invited, by Gwinnett Department of Corrections, to line the route to honor Officer Riner and his family. The route will begin on SR 20, to Scenic Highway, back to SR 20, U.S. 78, and then SR 81 as they make their way to Monticello. Please plan for traffic delays in these areas during the procession. - Athens Technical College recently held its official ribbon cutting for its satellite nursing program in nearby Monroe. The Walton County-based program will accept 30 aspiring nursing students each fall semester and provide them the tools to grow both in the classroom and in an actual hospital setting. With the help of area hospitals, Piedmont Newton, Piedmont Rockdale, and Piedmont Walton, Athens Tech was able to complete a $1 million renovation to help expand the program. (Monroe Local)
