New Loganville Fire Chief Named
Carl Morrow started with the Loganville Fire Department as a volunteer 26 years ago, when he was still in high school.

LOGANVILLE, GA — Loganville has a new fire chief.
Carl Morrow, a 26-year veteran of the department since starting as a high-school volunteer in 1991, was named the new chief effective Monday.
"Loganville is a place where people matter, and to me, that not only means our citizens but those who run toward an emergency when others run away," Morrow said in a news release. "I think the Loganville Fire Department is among not only the state’s best, but among the best in the country.

"I have truly enjoyed my time with our department and I look forward to my new role as chief of the Loganville Fire Department."
Morrow was appointed in February to serve as the city's assistant fire chief, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department after former chief Danny Roberts was named the new city manager.

As a junior at Loganville High School, Morrow made the move from volunteer to part-time employee with the fire department. Even when he graduated and took a job with the Cobb County Fire Department, Morrow maintained his status as a part-time firefighter with Loganville.
He then took on a full-time role with the Loganville Fire Department in 1998 and has remained with the agency since.
In addition to leadership training and the achievement of National Professional Qualifications Instructor I status with the Georgia Fire Training Academy, Morrow has received training as an EMT, taken management classes and recently received his associate’s degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.
Morrow and his wife, Melody, have two daughters and when not serving as a firefighter, he can often been seen at gymnastic competitions and dance recitals.
