- The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners has scheduled its last public hearing regarding keeping the general fund millage rate the same as last year. Residents are invited to comment during the last public hearing on Monday, Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in the auditorium. Millage rates will officially be adopted at the Aug. 2 Board of Commissioners meeting. (Gwinnett Citizen)
- Gwinnett County Commissioners voted on Tuesday to approve a referendum to extend the county's special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) for six more years. The 2023 SPLOST program includes project efforts of $4.48 million for Loganville and $6.4 million for Grayson. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
- The Gwinnett Police Department thanked its new K9 Sika for helping catch a man wanted by the Barrow County Sheriff's Office on Monday evening. The chase for the man ended up in Gwinnett County, where Sika tracked him for 1.6 miles before locating him hiding in a chicken coop. (FOX 5 Atlanta)

- The 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled yesterday that Georgia's law banning abortion at six weeks – with some exceptions – can take place effective immediately. Exceptions to the ruling allow for abortions at 20 weeks or less if the pregnancy was a result of rape or incest (if a police report is filed). Abortions may also be performed in the case of a medical emergency that may prevent death or physical impairment of the pregnant person. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
