Seven alleged gang members have been arrested and charged in connection with a January brawl outside a Grayson-area McDonald’s that left one person severely beaten.

Gwinnett Police said in a news release that Rohshawn McKay, 20, Rashidi Allen, 17, Jahaud Jackson, 19, Alex Townsend, 17, Jourdan Stanton, 19 and two juveniles were each charged with aggravated assault, battery, and participation in criminal street gang activity.

Polices responded on Jan. 23 to the McDonald’s at 1881 Grayson Highway, where around 20 teenagers were reportedly fighting in the parking lot. One person was injured and lying on the ground, the 911 caller said. The fight had been broken up by the time police arrived.

A short time later, police answered a call about a gunshot somewhere nearby, where the suspects had fled to after the McDonald’s fight. No one was injured by the gunfire.

“Officers were able to determine that several of the subjects present were members of the criminal street gang ‘Ydubb,’” Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said in the news release. “Ydubb is a hybrid gang, and considers itself a subset of the Bloods.”

Ydubb was previously known as Young Wavy Goons, the same gang whose members were charged in the murder of Paul Sampleton in December 2012.

Smith said the GCPD Gangs Unit took over the investigation and identified seven suspects as Ydubb gang members or affiliates.

“Detectives believe all seven were participants in the attack on the victim,” Smith said. “In addition, detectives located photos and videos online that showed the suspects attacking and fighting random people having no affiliation with gangs or gang activity.”

Smith aspects of the investigation are ongoing.
