A Loganville-area sandwich shop failed a recent health inspection, which cited several food-handling violations.
Jersey Mike’s, located at 4018 Atlanta Highway, scored a 66/U during a March 5 inspection, according to Gwinnett County health department data. Anything 69 or below is a failing score.

The inspection was a follow-up to a 72/C scored on Feb. 24.
The inspector’s observations included:

- Employee not washing hands prior to donning gloves to work with food (multiple times).
- Employee handled raw beef and then handled vegetables and cheese.
- Cold-held potentially hazardous foods not maintained below 41F; no time controls/documentation in place.
- Deli meats and cheeses (not covered) stored under dripping condensation in glass door cooler.
- Cloth hanging on hook used to clean cutting board. Had employee move towels to sanitizer solution.
- A health score of a 92 posted not the most recent health score.
- Employee handled raw beef and then handled vegetables/cheese with same pair of gloves.
A followup inspection is required within 10 days.
