Sawicki's Meat, Seafood and More Closes

DECATUR, GA -- After nearly 10 years, Sawicki’s Meat, Seafood and More, on West Ponce de Leon Avenue in Decatur, has closed.

The restaurant, which served mostly takeaway food and sandwiches, closed for good on Sunday, owner Lynn Sawicki said Tuesday in a Facebook post.

“The cost of doing business recently has grown more than our revenues, so after 9 great years, I made the tough decision to close,” she wrote. ”I want to thank all of you for your devotion to the store and to thank my wonderful staff who loved taking care of you.”

Sawicki had previously worked at popular area spots including Bacchanalia, Floataway Cafe and Star Provisions.

In the post, she said she’s seeking her next opportunity.

“This has been one of the more difficult decisions I’ve ever made and I’m now on the lookout for an executive chef position in the greater Atlanta area,” she wrote. ”I hope to see you and cook for you soon!”
