VALDOSTA, GA -- Alicia Snowden of Loganville, Georgia, has been awarded a Walter R. and Dorothy Salter Scholarship at Valdosta State University for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Samford University’s Spring 2015 Dean’s List

BIRMINGHAM, AL -- Samford University releases dean’s lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean’s List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

The following local students were named to the Spring 2015 Dean’s list.

Summer internship gives Lauren Gillenwater valuable experience

FINDLAY, OH -- Lauren Gillenwater of Loganville, Ga., is an assistant barn manager intern for The University of Findlay Equestrian Studies Program in Findlay, Ohio, for summer 2015. A senior at Findlay, Gillenwater is working on a degree in equine business management.

Dean’s List at Mercer University

MACON, GA -- The following area residents were named to the Dean’s List at Mercer University for the spring 2015 semester. Inclusion on this list requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards specific to the college or school within the University.
