Sheriff's Calls: Arrest After Chase, Patrol Car Break-In, 'Zero Turn' Mowers Stolen

CRIME AWARENESS/COMMUNITY INFORMATION ALERT
Activity date: March 30, 2015 – March 31, 2015
Zone 1
Burglary – A Toro Zero Turn and Craftsman push mower were reportedly stolen from a barn on H D Atha Rd.
Harassment – Male subject reportedly came onto property of a residence on Habersham Circle. Subject was given a criminal trespass warning and told not to have any contact with complainant at residence.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 81 and Jersey Walnut Grove Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Arrest – Candy Castillo was arrested for Driving while Unlicensed and Failure to Maintain Lane in the area of H D Atha Rd. and County Line Rd.
Zone 2
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Sweetbriar Rd. in reference to speeding vehicles.
Theft Report – An Exmark Zero Turn mower was reportedly taken sometime between 10:00 p.m. on 03/30/15 and 8:00 a.m. on 03/31/15.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on H D Atha Rd. and Jersey Social Circle Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Zone 3
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in the area of Gene Bell Rd. reference to no one should be on location at vacant residence in the area.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Jones Woods Rd. and George Laboon Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Zone 4
Burglary – Residence on Fairview Drive was reportedly entered over the weekend and holes were put in the walls. Nothing was taken from residence.
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Walton Rd. in reference to speeding vehicles.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Tom C Camp Rd. and Partain Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Arrest – Travis Smith was arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than one ounce in the area of Shoal Creek Rd. and Gin Rd.
Zone 5
Identity Theft – Subject at a residence on Holly Stand Ct. reportedly had his personal information used to access his bank accounts.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Piney Grove Rd. and Summit ln. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. Citations issued for Driving while Unlicensed, Driving while License Suspended and No tag as a result of the safety check.
Chase – Walton County deputies were involved in a chase with a subject in the area of Cown Rd. Subject wrecked and fled on foot from the scene. Subject was located. Bailey Christian McHargue was charged in the incident with several traffic violations.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 81 and Forest Falls Dr. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Burglary – Resident owner on Tennyson Dr. reportedly saw someone run out the back door of the residence when he got home. Area checked. No contact. Nothing appeared to be taken.
Entering Auto – An unmarked Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Dodge Challenger at a residence on Arbor Rd. was entered between 10:00 p.m. on 03/31/15 and 4:40 a.m. on 04/01/15. Several items were taken.
Zone 6
Suspicious Person – A black male reportedly keeps coming onto the property of Jerry’s Corner Store. Walton County deputies were unable to locate subject.
Theft – At a residence on Irvin Dr. a black male reportedly got out of a silver, Honda Accord, walked up to front door and reportedly tried to take a package that was on the ground. Subject was confronted by witness. Subject quickly got back in his vehicle and left the area. Three opened packages were located. Two packages still had items inside. One package was empty.
Zone 7
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 81 and Guthrie Cemetery Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Burglary Attempt– Subject reported new pry marks to the rear door of a residence on Magnolia Dr.
Dispute – Subjects at a residence on Cannon Farm Rd. were involved in a dispute. Denise Medders and Trace Greene were both issued Disorderly Conduct citations as a result of the dispute.
