CRIME AWARENESS/COMMUNITY INFORMATION ALERT

Activity date: February 12, 2015 – February 16, 2015

Walton County Deputies responded to numerous calls of trees, limbs, and power lines in the roadway throughout the county.

Zone 1
Burglary – A garage next to residence was reportedly entered at a residence on Alcovy Station Rd. Nothing reported missing. Extra patrol requested.

Accident – A two vehicle accident occurred in the area of Hwy 138 and Youth Jersey Rd. No injuries. Accident handled by GSP.

Discharging Firearms – Shots were reportedly heard at a residence on Nunnally Farm Rd. Area checked. No contact made.

Zone 2
Explosion – An explosion was reportedly heard in the area of Alcovy Mountain Rd., Hillside Trace and Riverwood Dr. Numerous calls received. Area checked. No contact made with source of explosion.

Suspicious Person – A subject was reportedly seen in the yard of a vacant residence in the area of Mt. Paron Church Rd. and Lipscomb Rd. Area checked. No contact.

Suspicious Vehicle – A maroon, Chevrolet S-10, Stepside, pickup truck was reportedly seen at a residence on Knox Chapel Rd. Extra patrol requested.

Arrest – Richard Ford was arrested for an outstanding warrant at a residence on W Hightower Trl.

Zone 3
Damage to Property – Telephone lines at a residence on Preston Rd. had reportedly been cut at the utility pole. Second time this incident has occurred. Extra Patrol was requested in the area.

Residential Structure Fire – A barn at a residence on Old Monroe Madison Hwy. burned completely to the ground.

Explosives – Numerous reports of a loud explosion was reportedly heard in the area of Chandler Rd., Ash Rd. and A D Farmer Rd. Area checked. No contact with source of explosion.

Loud Music – Subject at a residence on Macy Dr. reportedly heard loud music coming from Laboon Rd. area. Area checked. No contact.

Arrest – Shannon Montgomery was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the area of Towler St. and South Madison Ave. as the result of a traffic stop.

Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in the area of Crystal Brook Way in reference to a silver, Honda Accord reportedly being suspicious in the area.

Zone 4
Damage to Property – A resident’s truck who resides on James Huff Rd. was reportedly keyed while parked at a hotel.

Zone 5
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in the area of James Powers Rd. in reference to speeding vehicles between 6:00p.m and 8:00p.m.

Identity Theft – A tax return reportedly had been filed fraudulently without subject’s knowledge at a residence on Mohansic Ave.

Fraud Report – A subject at a residence on Richmond Place reportedly had a fraudulent transaction made through a PayPal account.

Suspicious Person – About 12:26a.m., a teenage, male subject was reportedly sitting on the side of the road wearing a blue/grey hoodie in the area of Mountain Creek Church Rd. and Orchard Circle. Area checked. No contact

Arrest – Franklin Vandergritt was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office at a residence on June Ivey Rd.

Arrest – Billy Lee Peppers was arrested for an outstanding warrant at a residence on Double Springs Church Rd.

Alarm – Walton County Deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Fairwinds Dr. Key holder notified. Residence checked. Everything okay.

Alarm – Walton County Deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on The Springs Dr. Residence checked. Everything okay.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Bullock Bridge Rd. and Piney Grove Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests.

Suspicious Person – A black female in a blue blanket wearing a red hat was reportedly flashing hand gestures to passing motorists in the area of Hwy 78. Incident occurred around 5:30p.m. Area checked. Individual not located.

Alarm – Walton County Deputies responded to an alarm at a church on Bold Springs Rd. Church checked. Everything okay.

Prowler – A passerby reported saw a subject looking into the windows of a residence on Grady Smith Rd. around 12:20a.m. Residence checked. Everything okay.

Alarm – Walton County Deputies responded to an alarm at a business on Hwy 78. Business checked. Pry marks found on back door.

Zone 6
Entering Auto – A trunk lid was reportedly open on a 2012 Toyota Corolla at a business on Karlee Blvd. Extra patrol was requested.

Suspicious Activity – Two subjects were reportedly seen walking through subdivision on Cedar Dr. with flashlights looking through vehicles around 1:30a.m. Area checked. No person(s) located.

Burglary Attempt – A business on Hwy 81 reportedly had screws missing from a door.

Alarm – Walton County Deputies responded to an alarm at a business on Lance Ct. Business Checked. Everything okay.

Alarm – Walton County Deputies responded to an alarm at a business on Hwy 78. Business checked. Everything okay.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Miller Bottom Rd. and Flagstone Way. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. Avelardo Silverio was arrested for Driving While Not Licensed as a result of the safety check.

Damage to Property – A tree reportedly fell on a residence on Rene Ct.

Zone 7
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in the area of Alcovy Station Rd. in reference to speeding vehicles especially during the dropping off and picking up of children at the bus stop. Hours of occurrence are 6:50a.m. and 7:50a.m. and 2:45p.m. and 3:00p.m.

Arrest – Daniel Coker was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Theft by Taking and several other charges in the area of Broadnax Mill Rd. after a suspicious vehicle complaint.

Alarm – Walton County Deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Amber Hills Way. No contact with homeowner. All windows and doors appeared secure.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 81 and Habersham Circle. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Arrest – Phouthone Lee was arrested for Simple Assault at a residence on By Pass Rd. following a dispute.

Alarm – Walton County Deputies responded to an alarm at Atha Road Elementary on HD Atha Rd. School checked. Everything okay.

Fire Assist – Walton County Deputies assisted with a 15-acre brush fire in the area of Wagon Trail and Guthrie Cemetery Rd.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Guthrie Cemetery Rd. and Guthrie Crossing Dr. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
