Grayson, GA- Following in the footsteps of national acts such as Devon Allman, the Sonny Moorman Group will be taking the stage and highlighting the heartfelt powerful rifts that have made the Blues great for over a century.
On October 5th, residents from around the Southeast will be travelling to Grayson, Georgia for the 4th Annual Grayson Blues & Brews Craft Beer Festival and Concert, sponsored by Goose Island Beer Company, in the Grayson City Park.
Along with craft beer connoisseurs from around the Southeast, music lovers will have an opportunity to sit in the sun and soak up the critically-acclaimed music that Sonny Moorman brings. The blues giant is an accomplished, award-winning guitarist/songwriter who has been playing “real deal” blues, rock, blues rock and classic rock for years. His band, the Sonny Moorman Group is widely known as one of the finest power trios in today’s blues scene. Under the management of William Perkins (Allman Brothers, Tinsley Ellis), Sonny’s 2009 release “Just Plain Folks” received national accolades with a Best Blues Album/ Best Blues Song nomination, and his act is CERTAINLY hard to follow!
In addition to praises for these releases, Sonny is the 2007 International Blues Challenge Solo/Duo 2nd place, 2008 Solo/Duo "Blues Artist on the Rise" – Blues Festival Guide Magazine, and he and his band were finalists in the 2010 International Blues Challenge.
"Although listeners can hear the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher, Lonnie Mack, and Peter Green in his music, any comparison does him no justice. Basically, Sonny sounds like Sonny, with a fat, creamy, and wonderful power blues resonance."Brian D. Holland, Blues Revue Magazine
Well-known local talent including Stephen Hendrix and “friends” featuring Stephen as well as Michael Hurwitz (of Music on Main Street Lilburn)will also be performing, and as most know, you NEVER can tell what musicians may show up to “jam” at a Festival like this!
Tickets are still available for this epic event, but are selling out quickly! General Admission tickets are $30 advance (includes beer and the concerts), and a limited number of VIP tickets are available at $45, including a tasting stein, commemorative t-shirt, table seating and beer delivery to your seat.
