“Normally, no offices are open on Sunday,” said USPS Atlanta district manager Scott Raymond, in a news release. “But every weekend in December, prior to Christmas, selected main post offices in our larger cities will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This effort will help our customers with their holiday shipping needs and will help us provide better service as well.”

Post offices will open at their normal times on Saturdays.

In addition, the Boggs Road post office, in Duluth, has regular extended hours. It is open until 7 p.m. every weekday.

And a word to the wise men and women out there -- the postal service warns that the next two Mondays, December 14 and 21, are predicted to be the busiest days to try to send mail. If you can avoid them, do so.
