'Texting Can Wait' Video/Essay Contest Open to Grayson High Students
Students at Brookwood, South Gwinnett, Shiloh and Grayson are invited to enter.

Are you a high school student who thinks they can get teens to stop texting while driving?
If so, the Snellville Police Department has a proposition for you.
The SPD and the Snellville Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association are sponsoring a video/essay contest in an effort to let teen drivers know “Texting Can Wait.”

“The purpose of this contest is educate our teen drivers that ‘Texting Can Wait’,” SPD Chief Roy Whitehead said. “Put the phone down. If this effort saves one life or prevents one injury, it will have been a success.”
The contest is open to all Brookwood, Grayson, South Gwinnett and Shiloh students. Videos are limited to one minute and the essays to 500 words. The deadline for submission is Nov. 14.

The CPA Alumni are funding cash prizes, $300 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place.
Entries can be submitted by dropping them off at the Snellville Police Department, 2315 Wisteria Drive, or may be left in the main office of the schools.
