An Uber driver was arrested by the Gwinnett County Police after a 16-year-old girl said she was raped.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — An Uber driver was arrested by the Gwinnett County Police Dec. 14 after a 16-year-old girl said he raped her a few days earlier somewhere along South Norcross Tucker Road in between Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Old Norcross Tucker Road in unincorporated Norcross.

Abdoulie Jagne, 58, of College Park, was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail and the Special Victims Unit is investigating the rape.

In the early morning hours of Dec. 11, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex off Old Norcross Tucker Road, where they met with a 16-year-old girl who appeared to be extremely intoxicated, said Gwinnett Police Cpl. Michele Pihera. The girl told officers that she had been at a local bar drinking with friends and one of her friends scheduled an Uber ride to get her home. Her pants were down around her ankles when she was found, authorities said.
