- Gwinnett's MLK Parade is back, in Lawrenceville, this year with a new route. The parade, which has not been held since the COVID-19 pandemic, will be themed, "Why We Can't Wait." Other ways to honor King's legacy include volunteer opportunities organized by Volunteer Gwinnett. Community service projects will be held at Harbins Park and Shorty Howell Park. Watkins State Farm Agency in Lawrenceville, where the Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be hosting a donation drive. The community is welcome to drop off canned goods, hats, scarves, gloves, and baby items. (Albany Herald)
- A University of Georgia football player, Devin Willock and a football staff member, Chandler LeCroy were killed in a car accident early Sunday morning. Two additional members of the football program were injured. A 26 year old female staff member sustained serious injuries, and another football player, Warren McClendon, received stitches, but his father reported that his family is with him and he is physically doing ok, but is heartbroken over the loss of his roommate. The entire UGA football family is devastated by the loss and asks the community to pray for the Willock and LeCroy families and the recovery of those injured. (CNN)

- Did you know? The Gwinnett County Public Library is the only full-service passport facility in Gwinnett County that does not require an appointment and offers weekend and evening hours. The Grayson branch does offer passport services during the week, Mon.-Thurs. from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Fri.-Sun. from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Keep in mind that this is a walk-in service with a lot of applicants, and the library sometimes has to close these services while people are still in line. - Congratulations to the Loganville Lady Devils Basketball team who won 44-40 over a good Monroe Area team Saturday evening. Saturday's win is the 41st straight win for the Lady Devils vs Walton County teams dating back to 2012. Emaya Lewis scored 17 followed by Caty Beth Bolemon and Courtney Stokes with 8 points each.
