Walton Sheriff: 'Enjoy Your Milk And Bread'

The sheriff's office also offered some practical tips for dealing with what could be some severe weather in the area.

LOGANVILLE, GA — The Walton County Sheriff's Office apparently saw you at the grocery store.

"Plan ahead," the office said Friday in a Facebook post, "and enjoy your milk and bread."

Along with that lighthearted wish regarding everybody's favorite bad-weather grocery purchase, the post had plenty of good advice for locals waiting to see how hard we'll be hit bya winter storm expected to move into the area Friday afternoon.

"Walton is on the line from getting a little to a lot," the sheriff's office said, while urging folks to prepare as if it's the real thing.

  • This is likely to be a three-day event. There's more danger when roadways re-freeze Saturday and even Sunday nights than when snow or icy rain first falls.
  • Emergency resources will be stressed and response times will be slower than usual. Stay off of the roadways if you can at all help it.
  • Sunday and Monday mornings could still be dangerous. "Anything that melts will freeze over again."
  • Follow the sheriff's office and Walton County government on Facebook for updates.

And, yes, enjoy that bread and milk. We suggest making a nice French toast.
