What Does The American Dream Mean To You?

Do you still strive for the American dream? Do you think the American dream even still exists or do you think what once was the American dream is now a distant memory?

In a new series, dubbed “Dispatches: The Changing American Dream,” Patch sites nationwide will be exploring what the American dream truly is today.

An example of a Dispatch story is one like , the story shared today about the group of citizens who pooled their time and resources to help a homeless woman in Loganville for whom the American dream can only be a distant memory.

Readers in the now almost 900 Patch sites nationwide are being asked to share their personal stories on the changing American dream.

This doesn’t necessarily have to be a story about how bad the economy or situation is. If you know of an experience that is different, a success story, that is a story that can be shared too. Also, what about the great migration to America for the American dream – is that still happening? Do you know of people who came to America for the American dream? Did they achieve it or have the changing fortunes in America forced them to reconsider?

What about retirees? Are they still able to have the retirement they dreamed of or is that no longer an option?
