What You Need to Know for Election Day 2013

The first Tuesday of November is quickly approaching, meaning that Election Day is almost here. 

If you didn't cast your ballot in advance voting, here's what you need to know for the city election and the county election Nov. 5. 

For the city of Loganville election: Seven candidates are running for three seats on the Loganville City Council: Pedro Vega, incumbent Rey Martinez, Chuck Bagley, Amanda Soesbe, incumbent Mark Kiddoo, Linda Dodd and Eileen Waring. The mayor's seat also is open and former councilman Jerry Price is challenging incumbent Mayor Dan Curry. 

Registered voters can cast their ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rock Gym across Loganville City Hall, located at 4385 Pecan St.

For the city of Grayson election: Three seats are available on the council this year: Post 2, Post 4 and the mayor's seat. Current Councilwoman Allison Wilkerson is running unopposed for mayor, and newcomer Trenton Arnold qualified for Post 2 with no challengers. The only race in Grayson is between Linda Jenkins and Laura Gavulic for Post 4. 

Grayson voters can vote during the same hours at the senior center behind city hall, located at 475 Grayson Pkwy.

For the county election: Gwinnettians will be voting on the proposed 1 percent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax in the county election. There are nine different polling locations in Loganville and Snellville, so find your specific spot here. Voting starts at 7 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m.
