Here are the top stories today in Loganville-Grayson:

  1. Meadowcreek High School in Gwinnett County is reeling after a second missing teen was found dead at a home in Tucker. Rodrigo Mayen, 17, was found dead after an alleged overdose, and his best friend, a 17-year old boy, has been charged with concealing his death. The teen is currently being held in the Gwinnett County jail. Mayen's body was discovered just hours after the remains, discovered near Drowning Creek, were identified as 16-year-old Susana Morales. Principal Kevin Wood is concerned about the manner in which his students learned of the deaths, and the impact that may have on their emotional health. The school will have counselors on hand to help students and staff cope with the tragedies. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. San Antonio, Texas-based Whataburger is holding its groundbreaking ceremony in neighboring Covington on Feb. 15. They will be opening Georgia's next Whataburger location later this year, and the restaurant will bring over 100 jobs to Newton County. With over 900 locations in 14 states, and an annual sales of over $3 billion, it's safe to say that Whataburger is a favorite to many burger enthusiasts. The new location has already starting the hiring process for managers, and hiring for other positions will follow in the coming weeks. (Covington News)
  3. Georgia Dermatology Partners, with locations in Loganville, Snellville, Braselton, and Brookhaven, has joined PhyNet Dermatology. After 45 years in the local market, GDP has continued to grow and solidify itself as one of the leading providers of skin care, cosmetics, and more. Joining PhyNet Dermatology will allow GDP to expand it's resources and take advantage of PhyNet's "operational expertise" while continuing to serve the local market. (Monroe Local)
