Even though the day was hot and muggy, last week's market was FABULOUS! The fresh lemonade and the ice cold popsicles, along with the mac 'n' cheese and Cokes in a bottle made the shopping experience just that much more enjoyable on a typical summer time evening.
Forecasters are saying the rain will be out of here, and we'll have a partly cloudy day for market this week - just perfect!
We've added on to some of our favorites so you'll see some new faces this week at Grayson's market. More produce - you'll see tomatoes, peaches, blackberries, some of the Spring onions, squash, kale, herbs, and peppers. More baked goods - banana nut bread, cinnamon, sourdough, rosemary garlic, carrot pineapple, whole wheat cinnamon raisin, honey wheat sourdough - and we'll have cupcakes. Beautiful cupcakes!
There will be honey goat cheese for a special touch, tamales, and home made wholesome spelt tortillas. There are jams and jellies, spices, and pickled products.
Have you tried some of the bacon from B&G Farms? I mean, everything is pretty amazing, but the bacon deserves a special mention from the folks at my house! And this week we're excited to welcome Carrell Farms and their water buffalo products. That's right - WATER BUFFALO! You're going to love it!
Gary will be back this week with his very popular kettlecorn and we hope to have some freshly boiled peanuts for you to enjoy!
We'll have at least one food truck this week - Beau and Tiffany Hodson will be bringing back either Mac The Cheese and/or their other truck which is more "burger centric". It was great seeing everybody enjoying their family dinners under the pavilion in the park last week!
We invite you to make the Grayson Farmers' Market part of your family's weekly summer routine! Get out of the house and into the park!
The Grayson Farmers' Market is held each Wednesday in Grayson Community Park from 4-8 p.m.
