- The City of Loganville discussed a donation from the American Legion Post 233 at their Monday evening work session. The all-too familiar Forty & Eight train has been a staple in Loganville celebrations for many years. - A local charitable organization, Because One Matters, will soon be opening a permanent location for its clothing closet, Wrapped In Love. The clothing closet provides an opportunity for foster, kinship, adoptive, and underrepresented families in both Gwinnett and Walton counties to shop for new and gently used clothing items and essentials. The local community is invited to attend its ribbon cutting ceremony, with the Gwinnett Chamber, on Feb. 7 at 11:30 a.m. at the new location in Lawrenceville. - Gwinnett County Fire investigators are working to find out what caused a fire in a vacant home in Lawrenceville in the early morning hours on Sunday. A woman passing the home noticed that the fire was spreading into the woods, but there were no cars in the driveway. When crews arrived, they found a homeless man outside of the home, but no one was inside. The man was transported to a nearby hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
