1. 15 Kids Found Living in 2-Bedroom Apartment With No Toilet Paper and Almost No Food, Police Say (newsbreak.com) — Marietta police say they found 15 children living in a cramped two‑bedroom apartment on Bells Ferry Road with almost no food, limited beds, and poor conditions during a welfare check on September 24. Three adults now face multiple counts of first‑ and second‑degree cruelty to children and marijuana charges, while the children have been relocated to safer placements.
2. Library Guest Information (kennesaw.edu) — If you're heading to Kennesaw State's Marietta campus, the Johnson Library on Hornet Loop welcomes community visitors with guest Wi‑Fi, limited computer access, and borrowing cards for Georgia residents. The guide explains parking, printing with KCash cards, food rules, accessibility, and policies on children, pets, and tobacco so Marietta residents can plan a smooth visit.
3. Prep roundup: Harrison, NCC claim region softball titles (macon.com) — Marietta High's softball team dropped a tight 4–2 region game to North Cobb, despite a strong complete-game pitching performance and two doubles from Kaylan Turner. With contributions from teammates McKenna Hall and Jenna Doss, Marietta now looks to close its season on the road at Wheeler on Tuesday.
4. Cobb Executive Women Breakfast is Oct. 16 (macon.com) — A Cobb Executive Women Breakfast is coming up Oct. 16 at Marietta Country Club, giving local professionals a chance to hear LiveSafe Resources CEO Lisa Mello discuss her leadership journey and the nonprofit's work. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and can register online in advance.
