Atlanta Is 9th Most Fun City in America

From nightlife and festivals to health clubs and parks, the city made the top 10 in a new WalletHub list.

Atlanta is fun. That's the consensus of a new WalletHub survey that ranks 2016's Most Fun Cities in America.

Atlanta came in at No. 9 in the personal finance website's list. WalletHub compared the nation's 150 largest cities across 51 key metrics, ranging from “number of fitness centers per capita” to “movie costs” to “average open hours of breweries.”

Here's how Atlanta ranked in every category (1=Most Fun, 75=Avg.):

  • 6th – Number of Festivals per Capita
  • 1st – Number of Restaurants per Capita
  • 20th – Number of Park Playgrounds per Capita
  • 13th – ‘Access to Bars’ Grade
  • 59th – Number of Parkland Acres per Capita
  • 1st – Number of Fitness Centers per Capita
  • 4th – Number of Dance Clubs per Capita
  • 20th – Number of Attractions

Here's the top 10, and it's no real surprise which city is America's funnest:

  1. Las Vegas, NV
  2. Orlando, FL
  3. Miami, FL
  4. New Orleans, LA
  5. Salt Lake City
  6. Cincinnati, OH
  7. Ft. Lauderdale, FL
  8. St. Louis, MO
  9. ATLANTA
  10. Scottsdale, AZ
