Atlanta Film Industry Impacted by Cancellations

'Containment,' 'Game of Silence' are among the shows cancelled that are filmed in Atlanta. But 'Sleepy Hollow' has been renewed.

ATLANTA, GA -- Two shows that are filmed in Atlanta have been cancelled by their respective networks.

The CW's "Containment," which is still showing, and "Game of Silence" on NBC are among those that received a network ax.

But another show, "Sleepy Hollow," has been renewed for a fourth season on Fox. The show, according to the AJC, has moved to metro Atlanta from North Carolina after the Tarheel state reduced tax credits.

"Containment" includes familiar sights from around the city, including the Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta City Hall and the state capitol. The series is based around the premise of a sick Middle Eastern man who enters an Atlanta hospital and contaminates a doctor. The patient is released but the doctor gets very sick, while he is at large, possibly spreading the sickness.

“Game of Silence” is set in Houston. NBC plans to air the rest of its episodes through next month.

"Sleepy Hollow" is back despite the departure of co-star Nicole Beharie.

Two Fox shows -- "Star" and "24: Legacy" -- will debut this fall and next winter, respectively. "Star" tells the story of three women in the Atlanta music industry, while "24: Legacy" features an all-new cast and reboot of the popular Keifer Sutherland drama.
